Bol Croatia really offers you a top spot - the beach!
Bol is a town in Croatia, located on the island of Brac. Situated on the southern tip of the island, this town is in the Split-Dalmatia County and boasts a population of 1,661.
The town of Bol is mostly famous for its beautiful beach, which has become a very popular destination for people in the area. The beach is called Zlatni rat, which means "golden cape."
The beach is comprised mostly of pebble rock that continuously moves with the tides. You can actually see the rocks moving with your own eyes. This is one of the main reasons people come to the beach.
Top ranked beach. Year after year.
I've created a series of five photo pages about this beach.
Another reason tourists visit this beach is to see and enjoy the spectacular water. The sea on the beachfront is crystalline and a bit colder than what you may be used to at other beaches in Croatia. This is because of the strong current in the strait.
On a quiet day you can actually view the stones on the bottom of the sea floor as if they are up close, even though they're actually 30ft. down.
There are amazing pine trees growing straight down the middle of the sand, splitting the beach in two. It's no wonder people keep coming back to Zlatni rat to experience the unique waters and enjoy everything the beach has to offer.
The town of Bol is an interesting visit all alone. Even if you don't go to the beach, it's worthwhile to come visit the town for various reasons. Many tourists come here every year to enjoy the harbour side bars and excellent restaurants.
The greatest asset of this island and town is the unspoiled nature and the beautiful beach mentioned above. The cultural and historical attractions are also a draw for most tourists. In fact, Bol is a buzzing tourist destination that continues to grow in popularity as the years go by.
You can get to Bol by taking a ferry from the city of Split - this only takes about an hour. Split is actually the second largest Croatian city, so you shouldn't have a problem finding transportation to the island.
In fact, Brac has its own airport. If you're willing and able, you can get to Bol very fast.
When you visit the city there are tons of activities you can participate in. These include windsurfing, scuba diving, and other great sports.
The accommodations and restaurants on the island are also spectacular - you won't be disappointed with the quality of services offered in this area.
Bol Croatia caters to tourists and as a result, the town provides all the amenities you could ever want when visiting Croatia. When you book your trip to Croatia this year, don't forget to include the city of Bol on your itinerary.
