A mainland Croatian sunspot, Brela Beach is located just a few kilometers from Split and Makarska.

It doesn't matter which city you start from - it's a simple day trip to Brela Beach from both destinations. Besides, the journey is part of the fun!

The views along the way are gorgeous as you drive toward the pebbly beachfront!

Brela is famous for its group of private coves you can use to take cover from the crowds and enjoy the beach and water without too many prying eyes getting in the way. Each cove is like a secluded swimming hole crafted out of the earth just for you.

One of the top-ranked beaches in all of Europe, Brela Beach is bursting with world-class hotels and accommodations. You can also take advantage of one of the many apartments and rooms for rent in the area of the beach for more reasonable prices, if you're on a tight budget but don't want to miss out on everything Brela Beach has to offer.

In addition to the fabulous beachfront, Brela offers many excellent recreation activities for the busy traveler. Go parasailing or partake in another water sport while you're there.

You won't run out of things to do at this beach. Try scuba diving in Croatia, a gondola ride, table tennis, or beach bowling - whatever strikes your fancy.

The weather at this place is similar to most of southern Croatia's general temperatures and climate. Expect sunny and hot weather in the summer, with cooler temperatures and rain in the winter.

The beaches in Brela have a lot of room...

Although Brela is a very popular beach destination, and can become quite busy during the summer months, there's enough room on the sand for an exceptional amount of people, so you don't have to worry about fending off crowds of beach lovers at peak times of year.

Don't be surprised if you come across a few topless women here at the beach - most beaches in Croatia allow topless sunbathing for men and women.

Full nudity is not as common, but with the beach's many secret coves, you shouldn't get in too much trouble if you sneak away to a private spot for a swim "au naturel."

Most beaches, however, do have separate family and adult sections so that everyone can enjoy the sun and surf uninhibited.

In general, Croatian beaches are a whole lot of fun for young and old. The Mediterranean weather is fantastic and with more sunshiny days than not, you can swim and sunbathe whenever you want.

The people are friendly and hospitable, and if you spend a few relaxing days on the beach you can rejuvenate your spirit and start to enjoy the best things in life again.

There is plenty of delicious food and restaurants near the beach, so you won't be left without something delicious to devour from morning until night. Fresh meals prepared by talented cooks and chefs will fill your stomach with the tastes and flavors of one of the most beautiful places in Croatia.
